text2html is a Perl script which converts plain text files into HTML documents. text2html is licensed under the Simplified BSD license.
Neel Chauhan. He's the person who typed every line of text2html and every word of this webpage.
Using text2html is really simple. All it uses is Unix pipes and redirections.
The easy way to use it:
text2html < inputfile > outputfile
inputfile for the input file and
outputfile for the output file.
cat inputfile | text2html > outputfile
text2html < inputfile
There are also command line arguments. In order to use them, you have to put
them before the
<. They are:
-nohead- Do not generate HTML headers
-pre- Generate preformatted text
usage- Show usage information
STDINhas bold text.
<br>at every newline.
STDOUTto the terminal (not to a file), The
<of the HTML tags of bold and underlined text doesn't show.
The current version is 0.01a. You can download the program from the
/pub/text2html through HTTP, and you
can view the changelog
